HTC is starting 2018 with the release of the HTC U11 EYE, the newest flagship joining the U11 line, according to a new report.
Going into 2018, details were scarce about HTC’s plans for its mobile devices. It had a tough go of it last year with the U11, but it’s still sticking with the line. Thanks to new details from noted leaker Evan Blass, we know all the major specs for the U11 EYE before its anticipated release next week.
HTC U11 EYEs (Harmony): 6" FHD+ (1080 x 2160) Super LCD3, SD652 octa core, 4GB/64GB (+microSD), USB-C, 3930mAh, IP67, Android Nougat, Edge Sense. Black, silver, and red. Launches 1/15. pic.twitter.com/Ng0ateH3XR

Aside from the odd name, the device looks pretty solid. HTC has joined every other manufacturer in making a modern smartphone with minimized bezels. According to Blass, the U11 EYE will don a 6-inch screen with a 1080 by 2160 Super LCD3 display. Powering it will be Qualcomm’s 652 octa-core processor and 4GB of RAM.
Rounding out the U11 EYE’s specs is the 3,930mAh battery, 64GB of storage with microSD expandability, IP67 rating, a rear fingerprint scanner and the return of Edge Sense, the squeeze function that was first introduced with the U11. From the looks of the images Blass published, the U11 EYE will feature two front-facing cameras, which will be placed to the right of the earpiece.
Blass revealed the U11 EYE will be released on January 15 and launch in three colors: red, black and silver. No word yet on how much it will cost, but early rumors peg it to be somewhere around $500.
