BlackBerry Motion now available in the U.S.

TCL’s latest mid-range phone for BlackBerry just went on sale in the United States. The Motion, which launched late last year in select countries, is now available through two popular U.S. retailers.

Amazon and Best Buy have signed on to sell the Motion nationwide. Both retailers have their listings live and ready to go, but Amazon oddly doesn’t have any units in-house. You’re only option is to purchase from a third-party seller. It’s likely the online retailer just hasn’t updated its site yet to reflect the phone is officially available. Best Buy, however, is completely ready to go.

The Motion features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) IPS LCD display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 12MP and 8MP cameras, a 4000mAh battery, a USB-C port, a fingerprint scanner, and Android 7.1 Nougat. TCL hasn’t said specified when the phone will get Android 8.0 Oreo, but last year a company representative did confirm the software update is on the way.

If you’re interested, the phone isn’t too expensive. TCL has the Motion priced at $449, which puts it against phones like the OnePlus 5T and Moto Z2 Play. Those phones have better specifications in certain areas, but they don’t ship with BlackBerry’s security, productivity-driven software.

Expect to see more BlackBerry-branded devices ship throughout the year. At CES 2018, it was announced that at least two new products will be launched in the next twelve months.
