It was long assumed Apple would release another iPhone SE in an effort to invade the low and mid-range markets. But never did we expect the device to be such a killer upgrade.
The latest rumor claims the device will feature a glass design to accommodate wireless charging, which is quickly becoming standard among Apple devices. The move is a smart one for Apple as the Qi standard takes over the industry—and it show that Apple is further committing to technology that’s been available in competing Android devices for years.
The move means the device’s design could be more like Apple’s beloved iPhone 4, which also featured an all-glass design. Combined with the iPhone 5’s size, and the iPhone SE could be a pretty good introductory iPhone.
When the iPhone SE was released, the device featured a healthy blend of design, specs, and affordability. We can likely expect the sequel to feature even better specs, an improved camera and, according to this latest report, wireless charging.
Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone SE this spring.
