LG today announced a slew of new products, among which were a brand new 5K ultra-wide monitor and a new super portable Gram Laptop.

In the past year LG has made a big push into growing its monitor line, and it’s continuing that tradition with a new addition at CES. The brand new 34-inch 5K Ultra Wide (34WK95U) offers the most immersive viewing experience thanks to a super crisp resolution that should make any workflow look better.

Before we get to the specifications, lets talk about the design. In refining monitor design, LG has come a long way from the bland and boring displays it made in conjunction with Apple, to the new 34-inch beast. This specific model is available in a soft white color with a sleek chrome arc stand. It looks aesthetically pleasing, something you’d very much want to have on your desk.

Being the first 5K display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, LG’s new monitor has a resolution of 5120 by 2160. The display is equipped with Nano IPS technology, which LG touts will enhance the intensity and purity of on-screen colors for a more accurate, life-like viewing experience. Complementing the ultra resolution, the display also includes 98-percent DCI-P3 color spectrum picture quality and HDR Pro for peak brightness.

The 5K Ultra Wide monitor is also the first Thunderbolt 3 display to support 4K daisy chaining. This means you can connect dual 4K displays to a Thunderbolt 3 computer, such as the newer MacBook Pro, via a single Thunderbolt 3 active cable and transmit 4K content and sound while charging the laptop. LG also included two USB 3.0 ports, two HDMI ports and one Display port for added versatility.

Just in case that didn’t win you over, the Ultra Wide monitor also has two 5W built-in speakers for a sturdy bass audio output.

LG also took the wraps off its brand new LG Gram Laptop (15Z980). The latest addition to its line of ultra portable laptops, it offers a battery that LG claims lasts up to 19 hours.

Outfitted with the latest 8th generation Intel quad-core processor, DDR4 memory and solid state drive, the LG Gram Laptop should provide enough power for most. Weighing in at a light 2.42 pounds, it is also meant to be extremely portable.

Some other details worth noting about the laptop is its sturdy nano-carbon magnesium alloy body, making it super durable.

Both the 35-inch 5K Ultra Wide display and Gram Laptop should be available for purchase some time later this year.
