The holidays have ended, but a gift for owners of the V30 is on the way. A software update including Android 8.0 Oreo should be arriving relatively soon considering a public build just became available in South Korea. LG has been testing the latest version of Android on its high-end phone for the last few weeks.
More than five hundred people have been aiding in Oreo’s tailoring on the V30 since late November. The beta build’s provided them with a taste of Oreo paired with LG’s software overlay. With Oreo, the V30 will gain features like picture-in-picture mode, visual enhancements, new emoji, and Android Go.
There’s still no word on when 2017’s G6, one of LG’s most popular flagships, will receive Oreo.
LG hasn’t said when customers should expect their phones to receive the software update. If there was a safe guess, it’d be early 2018. Owners of the V30 in South Korea will be sharing any issues with the company before the rest of the world gets a taste of Oreo.
