Galaxy S9 shows up in new video leaking its design

The new year is coming, and so is the Galaxy S9. But Samsung isn’t doing a very good job hiding the upcoming flagship. The latest Galaxy S9 leak appears to show what the front of the phone looks like.

A video obtained by SlashLeaks claims to show alleged screen protectors belonging to the Galaxy S9. So it’s not actually the front of the Galaxy S9 we’re seeing. Rather, it’s a bunch of screen protectors that would sit atop the display. It does give us a good indication of the layout, though.

Samsung’s innovative Infinity Display appears as though it will be returning for the 2018 flagship. The screen protectors confirm the side bezels are essentially non-existent while the top and bottom bezels are slimmed down. There are also quite a number of cameras and sensors above the display. That could be for improvements to facial recognition. If Samsung wants the Galaxy S9 to have biometric authentication on the same level as Apple’s iPhone X, it’ll need to greatly improve the approach implemented from the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8.

As reported several times before, the Galaxy S9 is expected to arrive in late February. Samsung should be bringing its next flagship to MWC 2018 in Barcelona and then start selling it in March. It’s an earlier release than the Galaxy S8 in 2017, but Samsung could potentially experience a few hiccups regarding production as is always a possibility.
