Leading up to the release of the iPhone X, there was non-stop speculation about how limited supplies were going to be. Those concerns never came into fruition, as it’s been fairly easy to score the device, and now shipping estimates for the iPhone X have fallen to a new low.
If you try to buy an iPhone X through Apple’s site, you are now greeted with a 3 to 5 day shipping estimate. Even better, if you opt for in-store pick up, you’re likely to land an iPhone X on that very same day. This will depend on your location, but it’s a whole lot better than waiting for shipping.
According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this is due to better than expected production rather than weak demand. Foxconn, Apple’s manufacturing partner, is now producing between 450,000 and 550,000 units per day. That’s leading to better than expected availability of units in stores and online.
Overall shipments of the iPhone X during the holidays is expected to be 10 to 20-percent higher than originally predicted.
