Qualcomm has finally made it official, and the Snapdragon 845 will be the model number you’ll be on the lookout for throughout 2018.

At the Qualcomm Tech Summit in Hawaii on Tuesday, the company officially announced the Snapdragon 845 as its next top-of-the-line processor. While all of the finer details were not yet announced, the 845 will be paired with the company’s latest X20 LTE modem which is capable of providing gigabit speeds on the proper networks. In other words, you could soon find your phone is faster than your connection in your home when surfing the web.

It is not known yet which phones will be using the Snapdragon 845, but if history is any sort of marker you can expect to see it in the majority of the flagship devices in 2018. It is also expected to make its way to some Windows 10 laptops as well, meaning you may soon see Qualcomm appearing everywhere.

The Qualcomm Tech Summit is going on throughout this week so expect more details to spring up in regards to the Snapdragon 845 as the show progresses.
