As if there was ever any doubt, Netflix on Friday announced Stranger Things will return for a third season. Now, the question is: How long will fans have to wait before the show returns?
Note there are minor spoilers ahead
If history is any indication, fans will get a peek at the third season in 2018; the first season was released in 2016 and the second hit a little over a year later.
FOR THE LOVE OF STEVE, DUH! So hold tight baby darts — season 3 is officially happening.

Set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, Stranger Things follows a group of young adolescents as they fight against demons from a dimension known as the Upside Down. Since its debut last summer, the show has gone on to gain nearly universal praise from critics and fans.
Matt and Ross Duffer, the brothers who created the show, previously said they foresee the show going four seasons. If they and Netflix stick to that timeline, we’ll see a conclusion to the story in just a few years.
It’s unclear what the new season will focus on, but there are a number of possible roads to go down. Most notably, the Mind Flayer still looms ominously in the Upside Down, suggesting that although the portal has been closed, a threat still exists.
Hopefully, the third season will continue to develop the budding bromance between Steve (Joe Keery) and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo).
