Remember how excited you were for the Avengers: Infinity War trailer? Apparently everybody else was just as excited. And I mean everybody.
Marvel announced on Twitter that the trailer had already passed 230 million views. The trophy now transfers from It‘s trailer, which had 197 million in its first day. It claimed the title from Fate of the Furious, which had 139 million.

That’s a pretty handy dashing of the previous records. Its worth noting that this number is not just for the U.S. version of the trailer, though, which has just 50 million views. This is all the different versions’ view counts accumulated, making it tough to verify that number independently and even tougher to compare against other trailers’ current and 24-hour view counts.
Even so, that’s a danged impressive number.
As you might imagine, people are talking about the trailer, too. Are they talking about Stone Cold Steve Thanos? Black Widow’s blonde hair? Chris Hemsworth meeting Chris Pratt in space? According to social media research firm Fizziology (via ComicBook), Cap’s fuzzy beard is the single most popular point of discussion, with 20,000 Twitter mentions in the first seven hours after the trailer’s release, part of over 1.1 million Twitter mentions total in that period.
Avengers: Infinity War is set to release on May 4, 2018. It’s the first of a two-part Avengers tale that will complete in May 2019. Directed by the Russo brothers, who also directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, the movie brings together just about every character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some of those character aren’t going to make it out alive.
