When the title for the Jurassic World movie was revealed, it was an ominous way to tease what’s to come. But the truth is we barely know anything about the upcoming sequel—you may have even forgotten that the film even exists, that’s how quiet the cast and crew have been over the past few months.
Finally, we have our first (very brief) look at the film in action, and it isn’t what we were expecting.

Given the events of Jurassic World, we figured Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) would stay as far away from dinosaurs as possible. But this teaser suggests otherwise. In it, we see Owen tenderly interacting with a baby raptor, essentially picking up where he left off as the Alpha of a group of raptors in Jurassic World.
We don’t know where this moment is taking place and why Owen thinks it’s a good idea to continue trying to train raptors (what good comes of it?) but, nevertheless, that’s what’s happening.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will apparently be darker and scarier than the previous film, which was more action-oriented and hued far from Steven Spielberg’s original. After seeing this new teaser, all I can think of is, “Aww!” But that reaction will probably subside once the killing commences.
Hopefully, we’ll learn more about the film in the coming weeks. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is set to hit theaters on June 22, 2018.
