The Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them debuted last November. It was the first of a planned five-movie franchise. The second of those movies won’t hit theaters until next year, but we’ve learned its official title as well as a first look at the complete cast, including Jude Law as young Dumbledore.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second movie in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. As you probably will guess by the title, it will heavily focus on the character of Gellert Grindelwald. In Harry Potter lore, Grindelwald had some of the most epic wizard duels with Albus Dumbledore.
Grindelwald will be portrayed by Johnny Depp, who reprises his role from the first Fantastic Beasts. Jude Law is a newcomer to the franchise, and the reveal of the title also gave us our first look at the cast including young Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore before his days as headmaster of Hogwarts when he was just a professor.
In Fantastic Beasts, Grindelwald was only alluded to, with little of the story exploring his character. The sequel will do just that, and we expect an epic fight to break out between Grindelwald and Dumbledore.
Eddie Redmayne, Katherin Waterston and Ezra Miller are also reprising their roles as Newt Scamander, Tina Goldstein and Credence Barebone respectively. We don’t know much about the plot of the movie other than
