With Thor: Ragnarok out in theaters now, the last piece of the puzzle for the MCU to fall before the next Avengers movie arrives is Black Panther. Due out in February, it will explore the mythical Wakanda and its superhero leader T’Challa, aka Black Panther, which we briefly met in Captain America: Civil War. Ten new character posters for the movie have been released, focusing on the heroes and villains of Wakanda.
The ten characters highlighted in the posters are T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman), Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o), Okoye (Danai Gurira), Erik Killmonger (Micheal B. Jordan), W’Kabi (Danile Kaluuya), Klaw (Andy Serkis), Romanda (Angela Bassett), Zuri (Forrest Whitaker), Shuri (Letitia Wright) and M’Baku (Winston Duke).
All of the posters posted feature a caption that encompasses the character. The most intriguing is Erik Killmonger’s, with the caption reading: “His people’s rage.” We already know Killmonger will challenge T’Challa’s claim to the throne of Wakanda (from the trailer), but it seems that challenge will be supported by many of Wakanda’s citizens. This my pull the veil into some of the political instability Wakanda may be going through.
Hardly any new information can be extracted from the posters, but there are a few key details that are shown off. In Klaw’s poster, he has a new prosthetic left arm, replacing the one Ultron chopped off in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Shri’s poster also shows off her awesome weapon that looks just like a black panther.
Look for more details about Black Panther’s plot and characters to slowly disseminate as its February 16 release date nears. You can check out all of the poster down below.
