Latest Pixel 2 bug is now affecting Google Assistant

Yet another bug is affecting the Pixel 2. Google’s latest flagship has been mired in neverending display issues, and yet another bug has been discovered that bricks out Google Assistant when using it through Bluetooth headphones.

First spotted by Android Authority, the bug prevents users from using Google Assistant with Bluetooth headphones. Normally, pressing a button on the Bluetooth headphones conjures up Google Assistant and you can ask it any query. You can still activate Google Assistant right now, but the bug cuts off the mic, stopping the next step of the process.

The issue is affecting different Bluetooth headphone brands, not just a specific one. Stunningly, the issue has been around since October but has yet to be fixed. Last week, Google pushed out an update addressing the display issues and various other bugs, but the Bluetooth headphone issue is still present.

Multiple users have taken to Google forums to voice their frustrations with the bug.

Google has been contacted to address the issue, but it has not released a statement yet. It probably should very soon with the Pixel Buds arriving soon, and one of the key selling points is its integration with Google Assistant.
