The studio behind Pokémon GO is prepping an augmented reality game set in the Harry Potter universe, according to TechCrunch. The game is scheduled to launch in 2018 with Niantic Labs and Warner Bros. Interactive partnering on the title.

Details about how the game would work are scarce, but TechCrunch suggests the title will take inspiration from Ingress, another game from Niantic that utilized augmented reality. Ingress is described as a science fiction title that “transforms the real world into the landscape for a global game of mystery, intrigue, and competition.”

With advancements in augmented reality, one could see how the world of Harry Potter and AR could mesh, with players fighting over locations and collecting spells (and maybe even some fantastic beasts). Pokémon GO became a sensation thanks to its fervent fanbase and simple concept—something that can be applied to Niantic’s next title.

TechCrunch claims the title is official but Warner Bros. has yet to comment. In any case, it sounds like millions of fans across the globe will be joining one of the franchise’s different houses when the game launches next year.
