LG V30 one month later: Is it worth your time?

With the Pixel 2, Note 8, and iPhone X dominating the conversation, it can be tough for any phone to nudge in, let alone one from LG. But there are plenty of reasons to love the company’s new V30, which features a beautiful design and some powerful camera features.

We’ve used the device over the past month, and still feel strongly that it’s one of this year’s most under-appreciated releases. If anything, it’s worth consideration against the Galaxy S8, which set a high bar when it launched earlier this year.

What makes the V30 so stellar is how effortless its execution feels. The design is elegant and premium, while the sheer amount of camera features is almost overwhelming. And it also provides a great audio experience for folks who prioritize those features.

Here are some of the V30’s most important specs:

  • Screen: 6-inch P-OLED (1440 x 2880)
  • Camera: Dual 16-megapixel
  • Processor: Snapdragon 835
  • Memory: 4GB of RAM
  • Storage: 64GB, microSD support
  • Battery: 3300mAh
  • Software: Android 7.1.2 Nougat (LG UX 6.0+)
  • Other: IP68 certified, fast charging, Bluetooth 5.0, Dolby Vision/HDR10 compliant

It’s easy to see why the Pixel 2 and iPhone X get so much attention. But don’t forget that the V30 is also a fantastic phone, and one people shouldn’t miss.
