Apple releases iOS 11.2 beta 2 for iPhone X (Update)

Update on November 7 at 10 a.m. PST: Apple has rolled out the public beta for iOS 11.2 beta 2.

Apple on Monday released the second beta for iOS 11.2, and you can download it now for the iPhone X.

The software is expected to introduce some big features to Apple’s mobile lineup, including Apple Pay Cash, AirPlay 2, and Messages in iCloud. However, Apple has yet to indicate which features we’ll see in the new update, so we’re just speculating at this point.

What we do know is that the beta for iOS 11.2 fixes some longstanding bugs that have reared their heads since iOS 11 launched in September. 9to5Mac notes that a calculator bug has been patched, while some emoji have been tweaked.

Now that the iPhone X is available, hopefully Apple can push this update out sooner rather than later. Since teasing Messages in iCloud and Apple Pay Cash over the summer, we have yet to hear when they’ll be officially available. We expect both features to be available in the final release of iOS 11.2 when it hits (presumably) at the end of November.

Developers can download iOS 11.2 beta 2 as an over-the-air update right now. Public beta testers can likely expect the same software to be available later today or sometime tomorrow.
