Samsung is launching a public beta for its Samsung Experience 9.0 operating system as part of its Galaxy Beta Program. The program will give some Samsung users early access to the next version of Samsung’s skin on top of its Android devices.

Previously known as TouchWiz, Samsung Experience is the operating system you see when you open up a Samsung Galaxy phone. It is responsible for all exclusive features Samsung offers, including S-Pen support, multi-tasking and Bixby. Samsung Experience 9.0 is based off Android Oreo UI and UX.

The Samsung Experience 9.0 beta will be available to Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus devices in South Korea, U.K. and the U.S. It is quite odd that the Note 8 is not included, but that support may come at a later time.

The latest version of Samsung Experience (version 8.5), launched with the Galaxy Note 8. Samsung is saying version 9.0 will launch with its next Galaxy flagship, which is expected to be the Galaxy S9 early next year.

Samsung is launching the beta program today. To sign up, users just need a Samsung account, own an eligible device (S8 and S8 Plus) and sign up using the Samsung Members and Samsung+ app that can be downloaded through the Google Play Store.
