Two days before it’s expected to be announced, the U11+ appeared in a new leak. Evan Blass, the mobile industry insider at VentureBeat, says the phone will be offered in three colors. Two of them are standard offerings, but it’s the third that’s causing quite a stir. HTC will apparently introduce a translucent choice in which you can see through the back of the U11+.
There were doubters on Twitter replying to Blass, so he shared an image of the translucency:

Look closely and you’ll see that, yes, you can indeed see into the U11+’s body. The HTC logo stamped on the back is casting a shadow inside, and you can see a few internal components. It’s not exactly a clear look; however, that’s because most people probably don’t care to see right into their phones.
The translucent U11+ will probably have a dark tint to hide every detail while still keeping a few things visible. HTC is maintaining style by going for a translucent look, not a transparent one.
The other two colors, meanwhile, are black and silver. HTC’s U11 from earlier this year also shipped in those varieties.
When it becomes official, the U11+ will be the company’s latest high-end device. It’ll be a lot like the U11 from earlier this year, though. The U11+ should have a larger display with 18:9 aspect ratio but keep the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and other specifications. With the display taking up the majority of the phone’s front, HTC will relocate the fingerprint scanner to the back. But it’s really just a larger U11 in the end.
HTC is likely to announce the U11+, in addition to the U11 Life, on November 2.
