A big Justice League reveal might’ve been spoiled by Big Bang Theory

Justice League is set to be one of the biggest movies this fall, and a do-or-die moment for the troubled DCEU. It finally brings the original superhero team together, and promises to be a spectacle of a movie. But one of the biggest reveals may have been spoiled this week by, of all things, the television show Big Bang Theory. A new promotion the series is running may have let it slip.

Jump below the gallery for the full story, but beware of possible spoilers for Justice League.

It’s been suggested at various points throughout production that a Green Lantern may appear in Justice League more than once, but this seems to be the most explicit confirmation yet.

Redditors spotted a part of a Big Bang Theory contest that uses a spinning wheel that includes emblems for all the Justice League members, drawn in each of the DCEU characters’ cinematic styles. There are symbols for Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman, but there’s also one for Green Lantern. If the wheel was in the style of the comic characters’ emblems, which the Big Bang Theory characters wear frequently, it wouldn’t be worth a second thought. Those emblems are all over the place. I worry people think I’m a Big Bang Theory fan when I wear one of my Flash shirts. But with these being done in the style of the DCEU seems to all but shout that the Green Lantern is coming to Justice League.

A  previous trailer for the film featured Steppenwolf – the villain, not the band – monologuing about how planet Earth was left with “no Lanterns, no Kryptonians” to protect it, which is the first DCEU canonical mention of Lanterns we’re aware of, but that isn’t a confirmation of Lanterns appearing in the film.

With that said, it would make some sense to bring the Lanterns in at this point. Like Marvel, DC likes to bring new characters in using established ones’ movies, and Green Lantern Corps is currently set for a 2020 release, so the addition has to happen sometime. When better than in a Justice League movie?

We’ll know a month from now when Justice League hits theaters on Novmeber 17, 2017.
