Marvel is usually on top of keeping key spoilers a secret until movies are released. That is not the case with Thor: Raganarok, as a TV show host recently spoiled a major detail of the movie and Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, was not happy about it.
Warning: A major spoiler for Thor: Ragnarok is about to be discussed. Proceed if you dare.
Stars Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo have been on the marketing blitz for the newest Thor movie. When they stopped by for an interview with the Australian talk show The Project, the host came out and dangled a major spoiler like it was no big deal. It is a cringeworthy moment to say the least.
“It’s a star studded cast, the gorgeous Cate Blanchett plays your sister,” utters the clueless host without any remorse, but he keeps going. “And for a lot of this movie, your sister, she’s trying to kill you.”
During the spoiler, Chris Hemsworth can be seen visibly uncomfortable by the spoiler until he finally relents, “You can’t say that, you can’t give that away.”
Mark Ruffalo also isn’t happy with the spoiler, stating the Pig Latin phrase, “ixnay on the istersay.”
If you are a fan of the comics, the news isn’t much of a spoiler. Hela has always been related in some form to Thor’s family. In some issues, she’s referred to as the daughter of Loki’s previous incarnation before the events of Ragnarok, but the movie has taken a different approach, making her Thor’s sister. This adds another family dynamic to the movie, beyond the Loki storyline, but a lot of its impact has been spoiled. Thanks a lot, dude.
Hopefully we can make it to November 3, Thor: Ragnarok’s release date, without any other major spoilers spilling out.
