Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer makes the wait that much harder

During tonight’s broadcast of the Vikings-Bears game (a riveting 3-2 score at halftime), Disney released an action-packed trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Needless to say, if you’re hoping to go into the movie completely clean, the latest trailer is like poison. Not only does it provide more insight into the dynamic between Luke Skywalker and Rey, but it shows how the rest of the crew is coping with the events that occurred in The Force Awakens.

In terms of spoilers, nothing of real mention is revealed—and that’s the way we like it. However, part of what makes Star Wars so interesting is its spectacle. The latest footage gives away plenty of visually stunning shots, which could potentially make them less impactful in theaters.

That’s just how it goes with movie trailers today. The danger of over-marketing a movie is revealing too much. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is tip-toeing that line with just a few months to go until its release.

We’ll have a more thorough breakdown of the trailer once we’re able to analyze what’s going on. In the meantime, check out the new trailer above. Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15.
