It’ll be T-Mobile getting the Samsung’s Galaxy S8 Active next.

We knew the phone wouldn’t stay on AT&T’s network forever; however, it wasn’t clear whether Samsung would partner with additional carriers or release an unlocked model.

Evan Blass, the mobile industry insider at VentureBeat, has viewed marketing material showing that the rough and tough phone is going to have a home on the magenta-colored network. The model number for the Galaxy S8 Active from T-Mobile is SM-G892T, with the last letter indicating the carrier.

The Galaxy S8 Active is similar to Samsung’s regular Galaxy S8 but has a much more durable construction and a larger battery. The battery you’ll find here is 4000mAh compared to the other model’s 3000mAh. Samsung pushes the Galaxy S8 Active for anyone who needs durability and longevity out of a phone.

When it does arrive on T-Mobile, the Galaxy S8 Active will be the first of its kind to not be exclusive. Previous editions have been released solely for AT&T customers, but Samsung made it clear in 2017 that the Galaxy S8 Active wouldn’t be the same.
