The iPhone 8 is Apple’s most durable iPhone ever

Bendgate isn’t making a comeback any time soon. Durability testing of the iPhone 8 shows Apple has completely perfected the durability of its iPhones.

JerryRigEverything put the iPhone 8 through his slew of durability tests, testing out the glass, aluminum frame and overall build. It handled each of these tests impressively.

The iPhone 8’s front display is on par with just about every other major smartphone out there. With the scratch test, the glass held up to a level 6 on the Mohs scale, scoring the same glass durability as the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S8. The new back glass panel tested out similarly, reaching a level 6 before taking in noticeable scratches.

For the camera and fingerprint scanner, Apple uses its own proprietary blend of Sapphire glass that isn’t are durable as the real thing, but will protect against normal wear and tear. The aluminum frame and buttons take in scratches with a razor, but it is all metal.

The last test was the bend test, and the iPhone 8 held up better than any other iPhone. The iPhone 6 Plus infamously completely bent due to a weak point while last year’s iPhone 7 didn’t bend, but did give a lot, compromising the waterproof adhesive. The iPhone 8 did none of that; there was absolutely no give in it. Apple designed the frame with no weak points.

Not only does the iPhone 8 have a fantastic camera, it also has a premium design that will hold up admirably over time.
