iOS 11 is now available—Here’s how to download Apple’s new software

Apple on Tuesday officially released iOS 11, the company’s latest update to its mobile software. The new update introduces a host of exciting features, with many of the best tweaks headed to the iPad, including a fancy new dock and expanded Apple Pencil support.

Longtime Apple users know the drill by now. To update your device, jump into Settings > General > Software Update. Check out our guide to make sure you’re primed and ready for the update.

Perhaps the biggest feature in iOS 11 is enhanced support for augmented reality. At its recent iPhone event, Apple showed off some truly stunning examples of what its ARKit technology is capable of, and we can’t wait to see what developers come up with. As Apple states, “The possibilities are endless.”

Additional features include a better camera experience, an all-new App Store, slightly redesigned Messages, and a more natural Siri. There are also several features that Apple didn’t even detail at the announcement of iOS 11 over the summer, so there’s a lot of new things to discover.
