Keep last year’s Google Pixel off your radar if you’re shopping for a new phone, at least for now.
There’s a deal on Newegg getting a ton of attention around the web. It drops the prices of the Pixel and Pixel XL by more than 30 percent. Everything seems incredible because the 2016 phones for sale come with 128GB of internal storage, which normally sells for well above $900 even for the smaller model. But the online electronics retailer is slashing both models’ prices to bring them down to $609 and $649, respectively, with free shipping included. We advise you to avoid the flashiness of this deal.
Just wait until next month. That’s all we ask. New Google-branded phones are on the way. The Pixel 2, is rumored to be offered in two models made by LG and HTC, is being announced on October 4. Google will showcase the new product with high-end specifications and exclusive software features not found on any other phones.
If you can’t wait and absolutely need a phone immediately, get an affordable alternative like the Moto G5 Plus. Then you’ll have something to hold you over until Google makes the Pixel 2 official.
