Amazon Fire TV disappears from Amazon, new models expected

If you’re thinking about picking up an Amazon Fire TV, you definitely need to put a hold on those plans.

A recent rumor surfaced that Amazon has some new Fire TV products in the pipeline, and if the Amazon site is anything to go by, those rumors are correct. The landing page for the Fire TV says “Currently unavailable,” and it has also been removed from navigation in the top bar of the site.

Even more fuel for the fire is if you go to the family page for the Fire TV, the only version of the device that is listed is a certified refurbished model.

Amazon is well-known for dropping new products with absolutely no warning, and this definitely feels like it’s preparing to do so. The question right now is not ‘if,’ but ‘when.’ If we were to hazard a guess, we will see the new Fire TV products before this week is out. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they will be ready for shipment by then, but they will at least be available for purchase.
