Ys VIII demo launches on PlayStation 4 – Now you’re out of excuses!

I’ve sat atop the mountain and shouted praises of the Ys series for far too long. If you’re not willing to try it out for free, then there really no convincing you, is there?

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana will be released later this year for the PlayStation 4, PS VIta, and PC in North America, but you can try it out right now absolutely free on the PlayStation 4.  The series is beloved by its fanbase for its bright colors, fun stories, super fast action, and most importantly, its rocking soundtracks.

Ys VIII carries on with each of these traditions, perhaps to greater heights.

Those who are just joining the party need not feel left out either. Most of the Ys games can be picked up easily through the PlayStation Store or through Steam, and the series’ resurgence in the world has helped its most up-to-date version reach foreign shores for the first time.

If you play the demo and like it, then I suggest you check out Ys I & II Chronicles +, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, and Ys Seven, all of which are available on Steam. In fact, Ys Seven just launched on Steam today, so be sure to show it some extra support! The series doesn’t follow a chronological storyline, but these ones will help you prepare the best for what lies ahead.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana will launch for the PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and PC on Sept. 12.
