Storage was once a big, heavy item you had to lug around. Now, small hard drives can easily store up to terabytes of information in portable packages. No microSD card has reached that level of storage, maxing out at 256GB, but SanDisk’s latest card, announced at IFA in Berlin, sure is getting closer with a mind boggling 400GB of storage in a tiny frame.

SanDisk’s 400GB Ultra microSDXC UHS-I packs an insane amount of storage that is perfect for smartphones. Most phone manufacturers, except Apple, have made it a habit of incorporating microSD slots into their devices. This allows people to adds extra capacity if they so chose.

With 4K videos and photos taking up extra space, memory capacity is important, and if you want to get the most memory, the 400GB microSD card by SanDisk is up for the task.

It will also be fantastic for devices like the GoPro.

The microSD card can hold up to 40 hours of 1080p video and has transfer speeds of up to 100mb/s. SanDisk also includes a 10-year limited warranty.

SanDisk will sell its 400GB microSD card for $250. That’s a pretty great deal for the amount of storage you get. SanDisk said the new 400GB card will be available soon.
