Sonos could announce its Amazon Echo competitor in October

Less than 24-hours after a report surfaced claiming that it’s working on an Amazon Echo competitor, Sonos has started sending out invitations to a media event it’s hosting in New York City on October 4.

Codenamed S13, the speaker reportedly features an integrated voice control system, seemingly corroborated by an image included in the unit’s FCC documentation, and an array of far-field microphones.

That’s it, I’m afraid

Sure, we don’t have a ton of details—but what we know is enough to build up at least an ounce of anticipation. Personally, I’m a huge Sonos fan, so I can’t wait to see what it’s come up with. I do have my expectations set tremendously high, though.
