Thor: Ragnarok’s international poster is not nearly as good as the first one

Marvel released the international poster for Thor: Ragnarok, and its a big-step down from the Comic Con version we saw last month.

There’s nothing wrong with the poster per se, but it’s very conventional. Thor is at the center because he’s the main star, and then the rest of the cast is layered on in the background. Loki and Valkyrie flank Thor’s sides, further down the poster is Heimdall, Odin and Grandmaster and up on top are the other two major stars of the movie—Hulk and Hela. Basically, it is just like every other Marvel movie poster.

The first poster for Thor: Ragnarok that we first saw during Comic Con is so much more psychedelically nuanced. It gleefully joins the first cosmic trailer of the movie, which was a blast, and ramps it up the color to ten. Vibrant greens, yellows, reds and orange colors encircle the major characters with their arms outstretched.

It even provided more details about the movie with the flying Thor and Hulk hurling towards each other, recreating the battle leap from the trailer. It’s unlike any other Marvel movie poster we had seen until that point, and we absolutely loved it.

Sadly, its follow-up doesn’t stand out quite as much.

Thor: Ragnarok is hitting theaters on November 11, so we won’t have to wait too much longer to see Thor, Hulk, Valkyrie and Loki battle it out with Hela. There’s even a special MCU cameo.
