Reliable tipster Evan Blass has obtained a render that suggests that LG will release a Plus variant of the upcoming V30. The handset is expected to sport identical internals to the base model, though it should have a larger display and a slightly beefier battery.

The V30—and presumably the V30 Plus—will look almost identical to the G6, according to OnLeaks. However, in order to make room for the bezel-less screen, LG has allegedly scrapped the V series’ most recognizable feature: its secondary display.
A recent report from Android Authority claims that the firm will introduce a new Floating Bar, which will provide quick access to applications and notifications, to compensate for the omission of the standalone shortcuts panel.
What are you playing at, LG?
Truth be told, we’re struggling to see a place for the V30 and V30 Plus in the crowded marketplace. Without a secondary display, aren’t they merely a reshaped model of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus?
LG will announce the V30 on August 31.
