As the iPhone 8 production, it appears that the inevitable flood of leaked parts has begun. Today we have the display assembly and the flex cable.

First appearing on Chinese social network Weibo over the weekend, new images have surfaced allegedly showing the iPhone 8 display assembly amongst other parts. Should this prove to be the actual display, it reveals a long-standing rumor that the new handset will feature an edge-to-edge display. Additionally, it also shows the ‘notch’ we’ve heard so much about at that top for the front-facing camera and earpiece.

Other details shown in the images include a Lighting port – which is not a surprise in the least – and some of the assorted flex cables that connect all the various parts.

Whether or not the iPhone 8 is in full production yet is still up for debate. Some rumors have indicated that the OLED display has caused issues and Apple did not begin production during July as it typically does. Following that line of rumors, it has been indicated production won’t kick into high gear until mid-September causing the iPhone 8 release to be delayed until later in the year.

For now, take all rumors with a grain of salt.
