A new ASUS ZenFone handset has shown up in early benchmarks ahead of a possible unveiling at IFA 2017 in Berlin next month. It’s believed to be the ZenFone 4 Pro, and it looks pretty beastly under the hood, with a Snapdragon 835 processor and 6GB of RAM.
ASUS has a number of handsets lined up for IFA, and unfortunately for the Taiwanese company, most of its secrets have leaked out ahead of time. Now the same is happening for the ZenFone 4 Pro, its flagship smartphone for 2017, which will hope to do battle with the likes of the Galaxy S8, the LG G6, and of course, Apple’s next-generation iPhone lineup.
It certainly has the specifications. According to data spotted on GFXBench, the ZenFone 4 Pro will offer a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor with Adreno 540 graphics, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It will also offer a 10-megapixel rear-facing camera with 4K video recording.
The device seems very similar to the OnePlus 5 in terms of internals, with generous RAM and storage offerings. Whether or not it will be as affordable in an effort to attract consumers who might otherwise be swayed by bigger brands remains to be seen. We hope to find out more next month when the ZenFone 4 Pro gets its big reveal.
