The Creative Director at Ubisoft Milan working on Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle for the Nintendo Switch, Davide Soliani, replied to a user on Twitter regarding the game’s resolution and frame rate.
Based on the exchange, we now know that Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will run in 900p at 30fps when docked and 720p at 30fps when played portably. This is important stuff for those keeping score, or so I’ve been told.
Here’s the tweet in Italian for reference.
30 fps sia portatile che docked. Ma docked è 900p.

No matter how you slice it, this is going to be a beautiful game. The art design of the Mushroom Kingdom lends itself really well to the lesser powered Nintendo platforms in the modern age.
Now, I’m of the opinion that games look better with higher frame rates. It’d be nice to see this thing in 60fps. However, this is a turn-based title that won’t rely on my ability to see completely smooth gameplay in order to perform at my best. It’s simply a visual preference here, nothing more.
If we get a more detailed, smoother, richer world at the expense of 60fps in favor of 30fps, I’ll take it here.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will launch for the Nintendo Switch on August 29, 2017.
