New dummy units have surfaced showing us just what we can expect from the iPhone 7S, iPhone 7S Plus and iPhone 8.
9to5Mac – with some help from Sonny Dickson – has posted new images of dummy units for all three of this year’s iPhone models. The big thing here is all of the models are shown with glass back designs and not a rear fingerprint sensor in sight. The mystery of this sensor, and whether it even exists, seems to deepen by the day.
The switch to glass backs will allow Apple to finally add wireless charging to its iPhone line. This will be similar to what you already see with the Apple Watch and you will merely need to lay your phone on the charger to top up your battery. This does not, however, speak to the rumors we’ve heard in recent months that wireless charging may not be available at launch, but it does lend credence to the idea it is on its way.
There’s still no information on pricing or official names, but those facts we may not know until Apple debuts its new devices in an event anticipated to happen in September. For now, these are just merely more fuel for the fire of what to expect.
