Horizon Zero Dawn’s big DLC drops in November

At E3, Guerrilla Games and PlayStation announced that Horizon Zero Dawn would see a new bit of story in Aloy’s journey. That story is called “The Frozen Wilds,” and its official release date has been announced.

Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds will hit the PlayStation 4 on November 7, 2017. The DLC is already up for pre-order. It’s currently $14.99 for PlayStation Plus subscribers, though that’s a 25 percent discount from the standard $19.99.

What will players uncover in the DLC? Here’s the official word from the store page.

Beyond the northern mountains, the borderlands of the Banuk tribe challenge all who dare enter to survive the extremes. But now this frozen wilderness harbors a new threat, and for Aloy, a new mystery – one she’s determined to solve.

The Frozen Wilds contains additional content for Horizon Zero Dawn, including new storylines, characters and experiences in a beautiful but unforgiving new area.

  • Uncover a compelling new story.
  • Explore a brand new area
  • Face new machines.

The $20 price tag tells me this DLC should be fairly sizeable. Horizon Zero Dawn was already a massive game, but those who explored it to death should find a lot more today once this expansion drops.

The screenshots in this post come from the DLC.
