I’d take this stunning transparent iPhone 8 concept over the Galaxy S8 any day

Apple is expected to use an all-glass design for its iPhone 8, that much we know. But will it keep the glass transparent so iPhone owners can view the device’s internals? Unlikely, but we desperately wish the company would after seeing this new concept from Curved Labs.

The video harkens back to the late ‘80s and early ‘90s when companies released transparent versions of their popular gadgets. For example, Nintendo released a transparent Gameboy in 1995, while Apple released a transparent iMac all the way back in 1998.

It was a cool trend that allowed consumers to look at the internals of their very expensive toys. For some reason, the trend has never been adopted in the world of mobile—and probably never will be—but we can always dream.

The concept highlights the iPhone 8’s anticipated teardrop design, along with the vertically-oriented dual-camera setup, A11 chip, Taptic Engine, and more.

Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 8 in limited colors when the device launches later this year. It’s too bad transparent won’t be an option, because the device looks absolutely stunning.

Feast your eyes on the gorgeous concept above.
