OnePlus 5 owners are experiencing yet another issue

OnePlus 5 owners can’t seem to catch a break.

A number of customers believe that the maintenance update OnePlus released last week to patch a potentially life-threatening bug has taken a significant toll on the handset’s battery life.

Before the upgrade started making the rounds, the OnePlus 5 suffered from a memory usage issue that triggered a reboot whenever an emergency call was placed using a VoLTE network.

OnePlus revealed on its forum on Friday that the issue is a result of a problem with the JIO SIM in India, though that doesn’t explain why folks overseas are also reporting excessive battery consumption.

We’ve reached out to OnePlus in an attempt to find out what exactly is going on and will update this post when we hear back. In the meantime, be sure to let us know if you’re experiencing the glitch.
