A Hat In Time is a 3D platformer that is looking to achieve the same ultimate goal of Yooka-Laylee, that of bringing back the classic 3D platformer. With dreams of partying like it’s the late 90s and early 2000s all over again, you’ll be able to pick the game up on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when it launches later this year.
A Hat in Time was originally pitched on Kickstarter after what seems like an eon ago. Developer Gears For Breakfast used games like Super Mario Sunshine and Banjo Kazooie as their foundation and built a reputation from there. Given that this was an early Kickstarter game, people threw money at it like they had nothing to lose.
Now, all these years later, the game looks fabulous and might even fulfill that lofty promise of a solid platformer that can live up to its inspiration.
The game is also due for a PC release later in the fall, and it will be priced at $29.99. No word on whether or not a Switch port will be stopping by.
