Destiny 2’s beta extended, but expect some chop

As is the case with all major betas meant to both stress test and build hype among fans, the open beta period for Destiny 2 has been extended. The session will now end on Tuesday, July 25, at 6:00 p.m. PT.

If you haven’t already snagged the beta client on either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you’ll need to do so by today, Monday, at 5:00 p.m. PT. That’ll give you just over a day to play.

Here’s the thing: expect some turbulence.

Bungie indicated that they intend to do “more strenuous testing” during this extended play period. They’re likely looking to stress their servers as much as they possibly can in order to deliver a silky smooth launch period.

They even quipped in a tweet after the announcement that they’ll “shoot out a turbine or two in the datacenter for science.” Sounds good to us, Bungie, you crazy fools.

Any of you download the Destiny 2 beta? What do you think of the game?
