The Galaxy S8 Active is a very real phone, and now it’s been caught on video and in images.
We’ve been hearing about the Galaxy S8 Active for some time now, but to date there had been no solid images of the device. Luckily not only are there now images but a video as well. YouTube user Dominique Henderson got his hands on one and posted a video for the world to see.
As with past Active variants of the Samsung Galaxy S line, the Galaxy S8 Active is designed for use in rugged situations. The screen has been flattened to lessen the chance of accidental damage. The back of the device appears to be exactly the same as the S8 and S8+ including the placement of the fingerprint scanner.
The edges of the device mimic those on the main phones in the line with a dedicated Bixby button placed below the volume rocker, and 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port on the bottom.
The biggest differences are it has a massive 4000mAh battery and it it is rated up to MIL-STD-810G meaning it can withstand dust, salt, water, humidity, solar radiation and is shock resistant.
There’s still no word on when we will see the Galaxy S8 Active officially unveiled, but our guess is it shouldn’t be too much longer. It will be available exclusively on AT&T according to previous reports.
