Defenders trailer packs a punch at Comic-Con

Marvel’s The Defenders took to the stage on Friday at San Diego Comic-Con and they brought along a new trailer for everyone to watch 500 times before the series hits Netflix.

Not everyone is watching it 500 times? Just me? I’m fine with that.

The Defenders is bringing together Netflix’s first four Marvel characters – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist – into one story that will see them taking on Sigourney Weaver’s Alexandra, a character that next to nothing is known about as of yet. It’s clear she has some form of connection to The Hand, but it seems even that may be out of convenience.

It also is pretty obvious the Defenders aren’t going to be the best of friends, and begrudgingly will work together.

The most curious part of this alliance is the fact Jessica Jones and Luke Cage have had no interaction with the ninja clan as of yet. How will they accept the idea that an ancient, mystical ninja clan has been running around their city? Should be interesting to see their reactions.

The Defenders hits Netflix on Aug. 18.
