OnePlus has blitzed through the distribution process and started rolling out a firmware update for the OnePlus 5 to patch the emergency number glitch some users have been experiencing.

In case you missed our coverage on Thursday, a number of reports have been making the rounds recently claiming that some variants of the OnePlus 5 reboot when you attempt to dial an emergency number, like 911.

Nice work, OnePlus

It should go without saying that any type of bug involving the emergency services puts lives at risk and should be dealt with promptly — so it’s certainly reassuring to see OnePlus reacted as quickly as it did.
