Google Play Music and CarPlay are finally friends

Google has added support for CarPlay to its Play Music application for iOS, potentially paving the way for Maps and Waze to follow suit. That is, of course, if Apple is willing to allow third-party alternatives to Apple Maps on its in-car software.

The Play Music for CarPlay client is divided into four sections: Home, Music Library, Recents and Stations, with the former housing recommendations based on your listening habits and other influencing factors, like the time of day.

Install the latest version of Play Music

To start listening to your favorite tracks through Play Music in your CarPlay-enabled vehicle, all you need to do is open up the App Store and install the latest version of the music streaming application, then you’ll be good to go.
