Great, The Evil Within 2 is targeting two of my biggest fears: collapsing to internal anxieties and the misplacement of children. Blood, gore, and the vile undead I am fine with, but when it comes to the human brain and the terror of children, I have to draw the line.
Of course, these fears are both very relevant in my life at the moment.
Sebastian Castellanos stars in this latest story and gameplay trailer from Bethesda and Tango Gameworks’ upcoming survival horror game. Like the first game, it’s not just about surviving the onslaught of enemies. It’s doing it while pressing through a world that makes little to no sense. Walls move, settings change, people pop in and out of existence. All the stuff of your worst nightmares.
This time, Castellanos has the extra motivation of saving his daughter, who also is lost within this subconscious mind-prison.
The Evil Within was a solid game when it launched in 2014, and I remember it just missing the cut from our Game of the Year selections. Something tells me that this game will follow it up in a big way.
The Evil Within 2 launches for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Friday, Oct. 13. Oooooo, scary!
