Sonic the Hedgehog comic comes to an end after a 24 year run

Archie Comics is canning its long-running Sonic the Hedgehog comic, bringing 24 years of continuous Sonic the Hedgehog adventures to an end. The company broke the news through its official Twitter account, saying that it and SEGA simply decided to part ways.

And it’s a real shame, too. For all the flack that Sonic’s games get for being all over the place and unpredictable, the comics have enjoyed a steady fanbase and standard of quality for a vast majority of that time. I can’t claim to be a regular reader, but I certainly tuned in when Archie Comics was making its killer Mega Man comic.

If these Sonic comics were anywhere near as good as those, then this is a series that the world will sadly miss.
