OnePlus is working on a patch for OnePlus 5’s emergency call glitch

A number of reports surfaced online earlier this week claiming that the OnePlus 5 reboots when you attempt to dial an emergency number, which is obviously a major safety issue.

OnePlus has since issued a statement informing customers that it’s finished developing a software update that resolves the glitch and will “begin rolling it out shortly.”

Not having the facility to place an emergency call is putting every OnePlus 5 owner’s life in danger, so it’s safe to say the firm is going to rush the release through the required channels.

Didn’t the OnePlus One have a similar bug?

The OnePlus 5 isn’t the first OnePlus smartphone to crash when placing an emergency call, though. The original OnePlus One had a similar issue — but that was quickly (and quietly) patched.
