Play Music makes it easier than ever to listen to songs you’ve searched for

Google has quietly updated the Play Music application for Android and iOS with the option to play songs directly from the search interface, so you no longer have to visit the results page to listen to the song you’re looking for.

As noted by Engadget, the interface itself is also a lot cleaner. Before, Play Music would show a list of plain results. Now, it highlights three immediately playable tracks, and lists the rest of the suggestions.

If you listen to indie music, you may be out of luck

If you listen to music that typically doesn’t make its way onto the charts, you probably won’t benefit from the feature as it lists the results based on their popularity. But who knows? Maybe you will.
