Mario Kart officially in VR! This looks amazing

I smell a trip to Shinjuku in Tokyo in my near future… if I had the money and the time. Someone get our man in Japan, Ron Duwell, on the phone, we need to see this in person!

The Shinjuku location for Bandai Namco’s VR Zone arcades will soon be home to Mario Kart Arcade GP VR, and they’ve shared a new gameplay video for the title that you’ll find at the base of this post. For now, here are some screenshots.

I can’t imagine this thing coming west, but I’m hoping it does. The Mario Kart Arcade games can be found in joints like Dave & Busters here in the United States. I can personally attest to that fact as I’ve played a machine in Philly.

Maybe Dave & Busters could be the home to Mario Kart Arcade GP VR if it ever gets localized. I really, really doubt it, but I want to believe…

This just looks so stupidly cool. The moment when you’re driving a kart, holding a red shell and set to obliterate Bowser in first person perspective is unreal.
